Making a birds nest with friends.

making a birds nest

Emily, Abbie, Rilee, Jaram and me, Brayden made a birds nest out of mowed grass, moss, leaves, daisies, and flower petals. We found 2 birds nests. One of them was Sophie's pet sparrows nest and one was a black birds nest. There was 5 speckled brown eggs on Monday. On Tuesday there was only 3 eggs left at morning tea. At lunch time there was still 3 eggs left, because 1 hatched and 1 broke. Today is Wednesday and there is still 3 eggs left. Emily found the birds nest, it was on the Tallest branch on the tree. I liked how Emily, Abbie, Isabelle,  Rilee, Jaram, Briana and I made this birds nest, probably it's destroyed today.

Cross Country by Abbie

Cross Country

Today is the day. It is cross-country! I was so nervous. My heart was pumping faster than a cheetah running away from zookeeper. I had my goal there in my heart. I just knew I could get 1st, 2nd or 3rd. I said to myself “ I can win this year!” Running is what I am good at. It is school time now I am going to school. It is morning meeting for today. I couldn’t lean I was so not concentrating I was thinking about cross-country in the afternoon. It is morning tea time and my heart is still pumping fast. 15 minutes later and it is time to come back into the class room. We are going out for cross country and we walk out the class room and onto the field. I wasn’t so nervous now. “11yr old girls race” said Mr Ritai in a happy voice. I had to wait a long time for my race because 8yr old girls are last. 1 hour later Mr Ritai said 8yr old girls race. “Yay my race” I said. I am so happy that I don’t have to go up the big hill,”Phew” I said with excitement. ”Bang,” “crash” went Mr Ritai’s bangers. The race had started.

The Koru by Aidan

It's colourful like a rainbow
Flashing in the air.
It's shimmery, shiny
Like a golden sword.
As smooth as a crystal.
As strong as a hard rock.
The koru waving around
As fast as the wind.

Adventures of Poem by Briana

The Powerful Koru by Rilee

It looks like a rainbow in the sunlight,
It is a huge koru wrapped around my arm,
It looks like a lizards tail,
It's spiky on the edges,
A swirly piece of paper.

Kittens Visit Room 6

Today my kittens came to school for me to share.  When I unlocked the cage they came running out. Everyone was so excited to see them and pat them. They were getting a lot of attention from the class and Mrs O'dowda. They ran around the circle and gave everyone a little turn at patting them. All I could hear from the audience around me was "They are so cute!" I felt proud and I bet the kittens were feeling the same way. Mum was there to answer questions my class asked her about the kittens. One of the kittens went underneath the authors chair and people were saying "That kitten is under the chair". After a while she walked back out. Only some people got to hold a kitten, they were very gentle and soft with them. Gingy Jnr was licking Calebs toes and his whiskers was also tickling Calebs toes. Sophie said she loved all of the kittens and how they were so cute! Mrs O'Dowda held squeakers which is the black girl kitten. When It was question time there was a lot of questions and comments. A comment Caleb said was his favourite kitten was Ralph. Later on I had to put them back in their cage and take them to the car. On my way there with mum Maliesi's class was passing through. Maliesi took the kittens to show her class before me. They said look there's the kittens Maliesi showed us.

The end. By Eliala.

Koru Poem by Caleb

A green twirling decoration,
A hypnotism tool,
As soft as a velvet cushion,
Green as the sea at sunset,
Shaped as a spiraling rainbow
